Two mistakes to avoid in your 6-pack ab quest.
The LGNAAA Newsletter, featuring
the best in fitness and success tips.
________________________________________________
A woman asked me recently about the best way to lose
weight and get 6-pack abs before summer comes. She
mentioned that she was doing everything right, but was
frustrated with the fact that she wasn’t making any progress.
So I asked her what she had been doing so far, and quickly
discovered what the problem was – her idea of “doing
everything right” was in fact doing everything wrong.
She said, “Well, I do lots of crunches to get 6-pack abs, and
lots of aerobics to lose weight.
Both of those exercise modalities are grossly inefficient and
largely ineffective. Unfortunately, a lot of people are still
following the same incorrect information. Here’s what to do
instead, and why:
First of all, understand that spot reducing is a myth. To burn
fat from your belly, you need to do effective exercises that
burn fat off your entire body – because that’s how your
body burns away fat, pretty much equally from all over.
What are those effective, fat burning exercises? Resistance
training and high intensity intervals, as proven by years of
published studies. Aerobics is not nearly as efficient, and I
hate wasting time, don’t you?
As for crunches, they’re not particularly effective for ab
strenghthening, and they take a lot of time that could be
better used on exercises that burn fat AND strengthen your
abs at the same time.
To learn more about what actually works, I recently posted a
series of ten videos here on this blog. Check the archives for
March and April and watch all ten for free. It’s a killer mini-
course in getting your body “bathing suit ready” in no time.
And if you want to find out EXACTLY what I do to look
like this in my 60’s, working out just 19 minutes a day, and
how YOU CAN DO IT TOO, get your copy of the complete
2 DVD system, packed with nearly 4 hours of great
information here:

Did you know there’s protein in fruit?
The LGNAAA Newsletter, featuring
the best in fitness and success tips.
________________________________________________
I didn’t either, but I met a very knowledgeable nutritionist
recently who showed me the numbers.
But before we get to that, there’s something you need to
know about human protein requirements.
We’re being told by most sources that we need more protein
than we actually do. As in most cases, follow the money and
you’ll find out why.
For instance, most muscle magazines are nothing more than
advertising outlets for the supplement companies that own
them. They want you to buy their stuff, so they tell you that
you need lots of it. It’s as simple as that.
We also hear from various sources that plant source protein
is “inferior.” And where do you hear that from? The folks
who want you to buy lots of meat and dairy. Is it true?
As always, I’ll be researching these, and related questions
continually, for my own information and health, as well as
yours. I’ll keep you updated through this blog as to what I
find out.
And I’ll be the guinea pig, so that you don’t have to, and
find out how my body responds to different amounts and
sources of protein.
For openers, I’ll be going to a three-day raw food festival
the first weekend in June, where I’ve agreed to eat only
what the previously mentioned nutritionist eats. We’ll see if
I wither away to nothing.
Stay tuned.
I’ll also be researching, and possibly interviewing, some
fitness athletes and even body builders who have gone all
the way to vegan and raw diets, to see how it affects their
workouts, recovery, muscle mass, etc.
Now, about that protein in fruit thing.
Protein is actually made up of amino acids, 22 to be exact,
and they show up in various amounts in various fruits. The
amounts are not high, but some believe they’re adequate.
For me, the jury is still out, but I’m always open to facts.
Here’s a site with a wealth of data about plant source
protein, for those who would like to explore a bit more:
http://www.13.waisays.com/protein.htm
And here’s another source:

I’ll be mixing in reports of my nutritional experiments along
with the usual fitness tips, so watch for new posts. And as
always, your comments are welcome and appreciated.
Make it a great day.

How to stop wasting and losing money.
The LGNAAA Newsletter, featuring
the best in fitness and success tips.
________________________________________________
Money is on a lot of people’s minds these days, and there
are some very simple things you may not have thought of
that can help you get more of it and keep more of it.
Do you have any exercise equipment? Sell it, you don’t
need it. Put it on eBay or Craigslist or run an ad in the
paper, but get rid of it and use the money for something you
DO need.
I’m living in a hotel room for the next two weeks, and it
hasn’t affected my fitness program at all. As most of you
know, I devised the LGNAAA system while touring the
world and staying in hotels. I don’t need a gym or bulky
equipment and neither do you.
The only piece of equipment worth keeping is the Power
Wheel, which is compact and easy to take apart and put
together for traveling. I’ve got mine with me now. You can
see a free video on this blog about how effective it is here:
http://lookgreatnakedatanyage.wordpress.com/2009/03/26/your-3rd-free-video-how-to-get-six-pack-abs/
Do you have a gym membership? Stop wasting that money
month after month on something that doesn’t give you the
results you deserve anyway. I haven’t set foot in a gym in
years, and my level of fitness as I approach age 61 is ample
proof.
Time is money too. Are you wasting time on long strength
workouts, and even longer aerobic workouts? I hate
inefficiency, and my full body strength workout takes only
19 minutes. And I hit all the muscle groups for maximum
results in minimum time. You can do it too.
So far, we’ve covered three ways to stop wasting money.
What about making more? Did you know that your fitness
affects your career?
Before you even get a job, you usually have to apply for it.
Let’s say two people apply for the same job. One is out of
shape, overweight, has low energy and poor mental focus.
The other is in great shape, looks great, has plenty of energy
and good focus.
Who gets the job? Clearly, person #2 above, as they should
if they’re equally qualified. They’ll likely do the job better,
have fewer sick days and probably cost the company less in
health insurance payouts. No contest.
Getting in shape and keeping in shape doesn’t have to be
expensive, boring or take a lot of time. And it will have a
positive affect on every aspect of your life, from the
boardroom to the bedroom to the playground – and even the
bank.
Now for the blatant pitch, which I rarely do, but it’s
appropriate to all of the above – pick up your copy of the
four hour, two DVD Look Great Naked At Any Age system,
and here’s what you can accomplish:
Pick up some extra money by selling off unnecessary
equipment.
Save money by canceling your gym membership.
Save time (which translates to money) by learning how to
exercise with maximum efficiency in minimum time with
maximum results.
Earn more money by getting, and doing a better job,
Look great and feel great in the process.
Have me as your personal trainer for life on DVDs you can
refer back to and workout with whenever you want.
